Bill Cunningham

Bill is our favorite photographer,
He has been part of fashion week since I started, the shows wouldn’t be the same without him. It’s always interesting to hear what he thinks about the collections or just people on the street in general, his number one subject. I love the documentary on his life or just checking out his videos on the New York Times site. Bill and his bicycle, it’s a blue one, like the jacket he wears like a uniform, always the same. There is something reassuring about him maybe that fashion is not always about the new thing.

Missoni giant doll

I always wondered
why this big mouse in front of the Standard hotel was covering his eyes. On that day, it could have been that Missoni installed a giant remote -control doll right in front of him. It was a funny oversize couple to watch.

Feiyue, it means flying forward in Chinese.
One of the oldest Chinese brand for shoes, that was taken over by the French not too long ago. They had a fun event yesterday, a flash mob and some beautiful portraits taken in a truck.

Pantone colors

What’s your favorite color?
The Pantone website has all theses fun interviews about people and their favorite colors. I was able to play too. Navy is probably the one. Why? It can’t be from the pleaded skirt my mother forced me to wear when you were going to visit family. It is just way chicer than black.

which color?

In case you didn’t know already!
It is fashion week. More and more, it reminds me of carnival. Personal style seems to be slowly killing the trends and sometimes it can be stronger than what you see on the runway. Not always better but certainly entertaining…

Bryanboy. Can't miss him...

Shoes are sexy

But not when they are uncomfortable!
Just went to see Edmundo Castillo‘s new collection, it looks great. After some time at Sergio Rossi, he is back with his own line, making high heels sexy but not vulgar.

Topless not allowed

No discrimination.
In Deauville, France, even men are not allowed to go topless. Really? Who came up with that sign? On the phone next to the sign is my mum. Hi Mum! She loves her cashmere sweaters from Loro Piana or Adrienne Vittadini , the Hermes scarf like many Frenchies from Hermes and always a shoulder bag so her hands are free.

Who’s Raoul?

How to keep track?
There is so many designers. Working for Neiman Marcus, I discovered a really pretty printed dress. On the rack with Dolce, Valentino and the usual suspects, I was surprised to discover a tag saying Raoul. I did a little research, it is a cool brand, the quality is very good and it is not too expensive. I’ll keep it in mind.

A New Cover

It’s out!
We just shot Tiiu for a cover few weeks ago at the Lambs Club in NY and it’s already there.
Very rewarding!
Hardly noticable, the bra is a must-have. It comes from LaPerla and I love that I don’t have to buy the smallest size with them. The dress is from Dries Van Noten, if you can ever visit his stores in Paris or Antwerp, don’t miss it.

Few dresses on the rack,
ripping off magazines for inspiration pictures for hair and make up. We are taking about shoes, colors, locations,… It will be days of work for few minutes of show. Diego Binetti is getting ready for his fairy tale. I can’t wait to see more.

It's a start
